With so much to offer, the Comarca Kuna is one of the preferred destinations for adventurers as well as for those looking forward to unwind. When approaching the Kuna coasts, there is an almost indescribable feeling of serenity, probably emanating from the greens and blues of nearby reefs, from the coralline white sanded beaches, the bamboo and straw huts, all merging harmoniously in this wonderful and isolated destination.

Coiba
Coiba National Park, the largest island in the Central Pacific, is situated in Veraguas province, off the southwest coast of Panama.
Being both, a National Park and a World Heritage Site, Coiba Island is one the most precious treasures of panama. It´s tropical moist forest maintains exceptionally high levels of endemism of flora and fauna, turning the island into an outstanding natural laboratory for scientific research and a valuable experience for divers, tourists and nature enthusiasts eager to discovery Coiba’s bewildering bounty.
Thanks to its well-preserved tropical rainforest, the presence of landraces in Coiba is undoubtedly surprising.
Coiba Island was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2005.
Coiba was once home to the Cacique Indians until the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500s. the Caciques, once the ruling clan on the island, were quickly conquered and subjugated.
Since 1918 Coiba was Panama´s maximum security prison facility. This island was a prison until 2004 under request and protests from human rights groups.
Being used as a prison, was formidable for Coiba, thus ensuring that it was a deserted place which no doubt favored to maintain their pristine looking condition.
